Hotel Atlanta Amsterdam is a small family runned hotel right in the heart of Amsterdam. The hotel has serveral different kinds of rooms on offer. Most of the rooms have a bath or shower, toilet, coffee and tea making facilities. All of the rooms have both wired and wireless broadband internet access (free of charge),cable television, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, mini-safes and are up to date on the latest fire prevention standard.
Reasonable rates excluding breakfast. The family run Hotel Atlanta Amsterdam can accommodate groups till 10 to 30 persons. Children are welcome. The hotel is open 24 hours. The hotel staf will do the best to ensure that the guest stay in Amsterdam, in the hotel, will be a pleasant experience.
The Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian, lived and painted here in the hotel between 1904 and 1907. The studio he rented was in the attic of this building, now room 33 of the Hotel Atlanta Amsterdam. Mondrian was one of the founders of De Stijl. This group extended the principles of abstraction and simplification beyond painting and sculpture to architecture and graphic and industrial design. Mondrian's essays on abstract art were published in the periodical De Stijl. Examples of his work and pictures of his studio can be seen on the Hotel walls.
