Awesome lake view ! The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the lake and not to far from the city center. The hotel provided us with passes for the buses which was great. The breakfast was very nice. The only problem we had was a musty smell in the hotel corridors, This smell was confined to the corridors and was not in the room or the hotel reception,

The staff provided courtious assistance and directions and we were fortunate to be above any traffic and with a magnificant view over the lake. The room facilities were comparabile with others we visited in this rating range and we couldn't fault it. Our only regret was that we didn't allow enough time to visit the attractions in and around Lausanne.

My Stay at Hotel Aulac Reviewer: Paul Cheung Date of review: 7 September 2007 Recommends this hotel: YES Recommended for: Business, Leisure, Singles, Couples Room Hotel Facilities 4 Bed 4 Ambience 4 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 4 Location 5 Amenities 4 Value for Money 5 The staff were warm and pleasant on arrival and I did my best with speaking French, which I am sure they appreciated, but later I was put at ease with the staff speaking English to me. My room had a great view of Lake Geneva and the park area. The Pirate restaurant was fantastic! Great seafood and steak! The Swiss red wine a must!! Great place to sit out and watch the world go by. Very convenient for other bars, restaurants, supermarket and chocolate shops!! Facilities for sports are top class as there seems to be something for everyone. You can hire rollerskates/blades/scooters/skateboards. Do tennis, watersports, cycle, soccer,etc.... I hired a motor boat for half an hour and it was great to see the town from the lake. The Olympic museum (few minutes walk along the lakeside) is a wonderful place to visit. Lunch on the roof terrace there was fabulous, as were the staff. Overall, a great trip and next time, I will be taking the rest of my family for a holiday.

The room was to small and the amenties were none. One main concern was the lack of english televison channels, (only one or two). The furnishsings were very simple and old compared to modern standards. I stayed in other hotels in the same area that were much better quality and value for the money. Sorry, but I travel quite a bit to Switzerland and particular to the Lausanne area and must be honest. I would not stay there again!!!!!

The receptionist was oke. The staff of the breakfastcrew however was terrible. I have never been helped so unfrendly as in here. For me it is a holiday. A pleasent stay in Lausanne but they did not care of this at all. And for me the room was old accept for the bathroom. I really hope you can speak to your staff because I come every year to Lausanne but never again in your hotel.
