Staff was professional, attentive without hovering, polite, and genuinely helpful. The room staff created towel sculptures which were clever and fun, and there was a little teddy bear wearing a Balmoral robe on the bed - very cute. It was convenient to the Gathering, which I was there for, and to the Records Office which I was also there for right across the road. As a visitor from the US for 5 days, I appreciated the internet, air conditioning, and in-house restaurant. Room service was fast and handy. There were umbrellas to borrow. A small gift shop might be helpful, but there are other shops not far away. If children are well behaved, it would be a good spot for families, but not for noisy unruly children.

Service is world class. The room was very elegant and stylish with great views across Princess Street.

We did find it quite pricey though, compared to luxury hotels in North America. The deluxe room was particularly spacious and lovely, but the other 2 were very nice as well.
