Hotels in Belfast – Belfast, which started developing after the Good Friday Agreement in 1998 now has turned into a tourist centred town and this resulted in opening of many budget hotels in Belfast and few luxury hotels in Belfast, Ireland. With huge number of budget Belfast hotels, they tend to compete with each other by providing better and upgrading their amenities constantly. Most of these value- for-money hotels Belfast offer good and clean rooms, standard amenities and basic toiletries as well. Some of the earlier opened budget hotels managed to secure neo classical buildings with fairly good location at the heart of the city, just walking distance to main attractions. Others however, tend to secure lands and buildings close enough so that tourists won't need to travel far for sight seeing.
Most luxury Belfast accommodation on the other hand, would occupy either a grand neo-classical building such as landmark mansions or recreate the grandeur of Belfast's magnificent past by incorporating detailed artwork and sculptures at interior and the exterior of the hotel building. Providing comfortable rooms, normally bigger than international size which is a plus if you're bringing along you entire family.
Belfast – Started as just a small village, Belfast began to grow in the middle of this century and yet manages to grow into a well structured cosmopolitan city. Retaining most of its classical and medieval buildings and parks, Belfast has quickly become a popular weekend break destination among locals and foreigners. The city pulses with an irrepressible optimism and energy with complete transformation at night where the city takes a new life. With increasing number of buses, taxis, boats and pedestrian tours, Belfast now is one of the preferred vacationing cities among Irish and European alike. Attractions such as Ulster Folk Museum and Belfast Cathedral, award-winning restaurants, lively bars from modern lounges to traditional pubs, hip clubs, great shopping, impressive theatres, galleries and live music make it a lively destination.
Belfast's main attraction is no doubt the City Hall and its surrounding streets, which heads the main shopping district from Donegall Square right though to Royal Avenue. If you walk along along Donegall Place and east down High Street, you'll find the Entries, have of pubs, notably the White's Tavern, dubbed to be the oldest pub in Belfast. If you head south from the City Centre, you'll come to an area known as the Golden Mile, the pinnacle of night life in Belfast. But the real catch is the small street behind Golden Mile where you'll find hundreds of cart traders and stalls selling almost everything, and cheap too. Try to befriend a local before visiting there because some traders are known to charge tourist absurdly.
