Ask for a room with a view of the river, the scenery is fantastic. Hotel staff was very courteous and helpful. The room we stayed in was sizeable vs other European hotels, very clean and neat. The location was central to downtown Bern and everything we wanted to see was a very easy walk. We did not eat at the hotel, except for breakfast, which was the usual fare and very satisfying. Overall, the Bellvue Palace was a great hotel and I would recommend staying.

We had difficulty in obtaining accomodation for 2 adults and 2 children and so used the shared bedding arrangement. Fantastic view
