Staff behaviour is very good, both courteous and helpful. Some room conditions were objectionable this time (e.g. the malfunctioning of the heater in the bathroom, mirror-sided tv screen, crowded bar situation - no alternative lounge)- but given the age of this house the critique should be mild. And the staff was ready to improve the situation as fast as possible. Altogether the hotel is quite recommendable.

While the building is old, the inside has been renovated into a modern, arty hotel. It was very different from your standard "quaint, old" European hotel which is a lovely change to have sometimes on a vacation. We were able to have a variety of hotels, inns, B&B style sleeping arrangements to offer our family on their visit. It made it pleasant and gave us things to talk about! Parking is offered in a garage situated a bit far from the hotel, but according to my husband is quite large and carved into the mountain. (Sounds interesting!) The staff was helpful and offered free internet usage on the computer in the lobby which was awseome! Breakfast was great, including the standards but added scrambled eggs and bacon. While this hotel was above our normal budget, I loved it and would like to stay there again. I loved the art work on the walls and rooms which was for sale.

Lack of parking was a problem as we had car. Access to hotel with car was awkward, esp in rain.

It is hard to choose a hotel in Salzburg, and they are quite expensive on the old town side, but I was happy with the choice I made - next time perhaps I would choose a cheaper hotel on the Mirabel place side and walk over. Very quiet, inside room, rennovated, boutique-type, pleasant
