My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights in October. We really enjoyed our stay. Mateo and Cecile on the desk were very friendly and most helpful making reservations for the places we wanted to visit.
The hotel has free internet access and a computer you can use if you didn't bring one. This was a bonus, most hotels charge for internet access if they have it.
Its location is near the train station, some great restaurants, the best gelateria we found, and the Accademia (Michaelangelo's David). Actually, we walked everywhere and didn't feel it was necessary to use buses. The sites in Florence are fairly close together.
Hotel Bottecelli's free breakfast was typical for Italy (coffee, juice, rolls, sliced ham, cheese, yogurt, cereal, and apples were available). Our room was large, clean and the bed nice and hard. The bathroom was also fine. The tub had a half curtain (door), so taking a shower was tricky. At least there was a partial door - we have stayed in some places where there was no shower curtain at all.
There is a beautiful little terrace on the second floor.
Overall, it was a good value for the money and we would stay here again.
