The hotel has a pleasant setting; nice grounds. The staff are courteous and friendly. The restaurant staff at dinner were particularly good. We enjoyed the dinner which was well prepared and served, good choice, and a reasonable price. The bedroom was pretty average; tired, even dowdy, decor, ready for a refurb. The comfort of the bed was average. The bathroom fittings were past their best; the taps were really stiff. The breakfast was self service - a lot of the items had either run out or run very low when we went in and the staff were not very quick at replenishing. Overall the good points outweigh the bad.
