With an age over 700 years, the Best Western Hotel Elefant - your hotel in Salzburg - is one of Salzburg's oldest and most traditional hotels. It is situated down a quiet lane off the world-famous Getreidegasse. A look at the history of this building shows that over the past 400 years the hotels purpose was, and still is, to serve its guests according to the best in Austrian tradition. Since 4 generations it is run by the same family.

Arrival by car:
Take Exit Airport from the A1. At the first traffic light turn left into the Innsbrucker Bundesstraße. You will pass by the airport and go straight ahead this street. At the end turn right into Maxglaner Hauptstraße. Follow this street until the end and you will reach the Neutorstraße. Follow straight ahead. Drive through the tunnel (Neutor/Siegmundstor). Right after the tunnel at the traffic light turn left and follow the road until you see the river and a car-bridge (Staatsbrücke) on your left hand side. After the traffic light before the bridge turn immediately to the right and drive through the archway (Reichstor) straight on to Getreidegasse, turn left and next right into Sigmund Haffner Gasse ca. 20 meters up to our hotel, where you can stop to unload. We will give you instructions, how to park the car. Parking at the public underground garage "Altstadt B", beside the Neutor tunnel. To walk to the hotel, use exit "Toscaninihof", 4 minutes to the hotel.
Arrival by train:
From Salzburg Mainstation, take the public bus (Nr. 3, Nr. 5 or Nr. 6) to the bus stop Rathaus (first stop after crossing the river). We are located on the backside of the building at Sigmund Haffner Gasse 4. Also possible hotel drive in by taxi (approx. 10 min. to the hotel).
Arrival by plane:
If you visit Salzburg by plane you will arrive at the international Airport Wolfgang-Amadeus-Mozart. Take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. Or take bus no. 2 until Hauptbahnhof/Main station. Change to bus no. 3, 5 or 6 until Rathaus. From there it is 2 minutes walking to the hotel.
