The staff has always been very courteous and helpful. The mobility pass that's provided allows you to take the trams in Basel wherever you need to go whether its in Basel for sight seeing, the train station or Basel Airport. The breakfasts are well presented, delicious and they have great coffee. The only minor flaw is no health club, but I'm willing to walk around Basel to get my exercise. R.N.

The hotel is situated in an excellent location giving good views of the city and good transport links. The food was excellent when it arrived, because of a mix up I waited an hour for my order. It was all put right by the excellent restaurant manager. The breakfast buffet was very good. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly and my visit was enjoyable. Breakfast (included in my fee) was quite tasty and satisfying. I especially enjoyed receiving a free pass to the Basel transportation system (several trolley lines stop meters from the hotel) as well as free access to the internet outside the hotel office (I would have preferred free network, but was able to fill my needs with what was available). I found the steps at the hotel entrance and in the corridor between the elevator and my room difficult when laden down with suitcases. Also, I hit my head several times on the slanting ceiling in the room. Small gripes aside, I look forward to returning to the Merian during my next visit to Basel in the spring.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and their English was excellent (my apologies I do not speak Swiss) Breakfast included in price was very good, particularly the boiled eggs. Would definitely recommend

Even though I arrived late they provided a meal. Very courteous. definitely recommend the hotel. I was delighted with the appointment, great view and facilities more than adequate for an few nights stay.

Very hot with only electric fan. Unable to keep window open due to noise from the street.
