Beds were hard - I say beds because it was 2 singles pushed together! Location was excellent, food was good but service was poor.

Our weeks holiday was to celebrate our 40thweding anniversary and so we decided to pay extra and book a deluxe double bedroom facing the sea.When we saw the room we immediately asked to be moved to the correct room as the room we were shown was small and shabby, in addition you had to be doublejointed to be able to fit your body around the toilet and to sit thereon! Reception told us rather impatiently that the hotel was fully booked but that they would switch us to another hotel if we wished.Having booked this room over 2 months previously this was not the kind of response we would have expected from a so called 4 star hotel.To make matters worse we then met another couple in the lift who said their room had been poor and that they had been unable to fit on the toilet! Yes you guessed it, they had our slightly larger intended room and we had been fobbed off with their room! This problem spoilt the beginning of our stay in Nice and needless to say this is one rather shabby hotel we will not stay at again despite its wonderful location in Nice. On a final point, the brochure picture claiming to represent a deluxe double room was misleading if our room was a typical example.
