This is a great and comfortable hotel in a fantastic location. We were on holiday from Australia and we travelled to and from London by train, so being next door to the railway station was perfect. We were able to easily walk into town to enjoy the sights of Chester.
The room was gigantic compared to the one we had in London and very comfortable - especially after 4 weeks travelling around in a motorhome. Having a bathtub as well as a shower was especially appreciated.
The breakfast buffet was of a high standard and staff were very attentive - especially the friendly and humorous concierge.
The courtyard of the hotel was a lovely spot for a quiet drink and to soak up the sunshine.
The only discomforts were lugging our suitcases up those stairs; the temporary roadworks on the street outside the entrance; and when reception staff could not assist us with a temporary adaptor for our laptop.
We would definitely recommend this hotel - very high standard of comfort and luxury.

This is a very poor quality hotel

Bed was poor
Shower water pressure poor
Bath did not hold water
Bathroom too small
Breakfast cooking appalling (cold and greasy)
Car Park inadequate. Residents subservient to Wedding party
This Hotel should lose its accreditation
Staff were excellent but deserved better from the owners

Very expensive considering standard of room. Presumably, this was because of the Chester races. The bathroom would have benefited from having a heated towel rail or even just a towel rail!
