Buses to the Bergen airport leave every 30 minutes during the day. Cabs are available across the street. The bus terminal building also contains a moderately large shopping mall with 5 or six restaurants, and all types of shops. Downtown and the harbor is a five minute walk. There is a free bus downtown every thirty minutes. However, being able to duck in to the terminal was great as it rained every day I was there (typical September in Bergen.) The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and varied. The room was clean and quiet - I requested a room toward the back as I had been told front rooms could be noisy, but in fact the whole area is quiet at night. There is free Internet access for the guests. The hotel is reasonably priced, and in my opinion a much better value than the SAS Bryggen and Hotel Norge closer to downtown and the harbor. I highly recommend it, and would return.

Reviewer: john simpson Date of review: 30 June 2006 Recommends this hotel: YES Room Hotel Facilities 3 Bed 3 Ambience 4 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 5 Location 5 Amenities 4 Value for Money 4 We found out that the hotel dinning room isn't open thurs. thru Sunday.We had to walk a long ways to find a restaurant. when one has a hotel in the land of the midnight sun..it would seem reasonable to have room darkening curtains..we had to use eye masks as the room was so light ..we also had to stand on the sofas to pull what flimsy curtains they did have even shut..I suggest draw drapes you can pull from the side that have a darkening liner.Also a light sheet available would be nice as the comforters used are way to heavy in the summer.
