The food was excellent whether at poolside or in the restaurant. We found the staff to be courteous, helpful and friendly at all times, and it was especially nice that one of the restaurant staff recognized us from a previous stay at the hotel. We knew to book the free shuttle service to/from Verona because we had stayed there before, but feel it should be made clearer to new guests how necessary it is to book with reception and receive your return "ticket". This service is especially useful after a visit to the opera, which finishes very late - well after midnight. Our only problem was finding the hotel on our arrival by car from the airport because the directions we had did not seem to correspond to the roads, and road signs were scarce and unhelpful for someone not used to driving in Italy. On telephoning the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and sent one of their mini-bus drivers to lead us to the hotel. A large-scale map with the hotel marked relative to the airport and Verona would be extremely useful.
