Reviewer: Liam Hunt Date of review: 9 December 2009 Recommends this hotel: YES Recommended for: Business, Leisure, Singles, Couples Room Hotel Facilities 4 Bed 5 Ambience 5 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 4 Location 5 Amenities 4 Value for Money 4 Hotel Cocoon is well situated in Munich, just five minutes from Sendlinger Tor station, and easy walking distance to the main shopping areas and the Marianplatz. The rooms were well appointed, with a well thought out (and modernistic) shower/sink/toilet design to maximise space. Our room was large enough for us to spread out over our week's stay, and had everything we needed - although an in-room coffee maker would have been very nice too (though it would have competed with the bar downstairs which sells very nice coffee!). The hotel provides breakfast for an extra supplement, and the opening times of the breakfast room were great (7-10ish), but we typically got breakfast at a local cafe on our way to Sendlinger Tor. We have no issues with the cleanliness of the room - we always returned to a clean room, with the bed re-made, and our belongings as we left them. The reception staff were very helpful and accommodating of any awkward requests - our friends changed rooms (from non-smoking to smoking) with no fuss, and late night requests for hot chocolate at the bar were answered. If (when!) we return to Munich we will try to stay at Hotel Cocoon again, and in the meantime will be recommending the hotel to friends and family.
