Hotel in excellent location directly opposite New Street railway station. Anyone visiting NEC could not be better situated. We were given access to our room early which enabled us to leave our bags and freshen up. Thought that our room may be noisy as it was overlooking railway station and taxi rank but it was not. A good clean low cost hotel with nice courteous staff I would recommend to anyone visiting Birmingham.

Would never go there again

The room was absolutely diabolical - dirty, what looked like bodily fluids all over the base of both beds (twin room), stained carpet, ripped net curtains, what was supposed to be a non smoking room but when you looked out of the window the roof of the window below was filled with cigarette butts and the smell of fresh air spray to disguise the smoking smell was choking, mould on the ceiling - despite only paying £55 for the night I would have expected it to be a liveable/acceptable standard which it was most definitely not! I am astounded to find that this is a 3* hotel. The staff were helpful after I had made the complaint about the room, they arrange to refund me and arranged a taxi for me to stay at an alternative hotel (outside the main town) as there were no other rooms available, which was actually £10 cheaper and a lot better overall which I would definitely stay at again (The Paragon) which also had excellent facilities !

The hotel is in ideal location for shopping, it is just next to the Bullring, and a few minutes from corporation street and broad street. It was very clean and the staff were very helpful and courteous. They were very friendly which means a lot when it is your first time in a different city. The breakfast was excellent and very clean, staff again were more than helpful and pleasant.

We would recommend this hotel because it is right across from the train station & in the heart of the city. The room was clean & had no noise coming from the street.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn for 1 night while going to see The Killers at the NEC and it was fine, the exterior was a bit shabby but our room was spotlessly clean and the front of house manager Sean was very helpful, I must add that the young lady who was serving breakfast and also doing the bedrooms was smashing, very cheerful and friendly and the breakfast was very good too, and we would stay there again.

Central location very good. Close to shopping and restaurants. Excellent for visits to NEC as the hotel is located next to the train station.

I was a bit put off before my visit by negative reviews, however having visited I think they were undeserved.
The hotel is adjacent to New Street Station, The Pallisades & Bullring Link Shopping malls.
It is not new or flashy, but a good basic place to stay.
The staff were courteous, the room was clean. There is FreeView TV with about 12 channels available, Tea & Coffee.

There was a bit of peeling paint in my bathroom, but otherwise everything was in good shape.

The rooms face a busy street where there is traffic into the night, but the secondary glazing made this fairly unobtrusive. My room was a non-smoking room, but it was clear that someone had smoked in it at some point (Please don't do that).

Breakfast was offered as an extra which I didn't take, but there are plenty of cafes nearby.

There is a good signal for three different pay as you go WiFi networks.

I would stay there again.
