On entering the room it was immediately clear that i had been given a shower only room instead of a suite. After carry all bags back to reception i was provided with a second key to a very pleasant room and stared to unpack. 5 minutes in, the hotel manager arrived to ask me to move because the sink was faulty. I was moved to room 3 which was dark, had not been heated and had musty smell. The bathroom had dirty grout tiles and only a small portable television that occasionnaly showed a picture through the static snow. The cooked breakfast incurred an additional charge (even though was stated breakfast was included). This was ok apart from the curried hash browns which quite frankly ruined this for me. On the plus side, the hotel staff were very friendly and the front public bar had been nicely decorated and presented. I would not reccomend this hotel to any future residents.

However in my opinion the area in which the hotel is located is not pleasant, this was particuarlaly noticable at night time when i had to weave my way around the hoodies to get to the hotel entrance! Also, there is a nightclub/karioke bar right underneath the hotel. This starts up at about 9 and ends at about 1am. I could hear the words of the songs- not good especially as i needed to be up at 6am for a busy days diving at stoney cove. The food was ok. Were it not for the helpful and friendly staff, this would have been a nightmare stay.
