It is very central, which is excellent, but there are a distinct lack of signs on the next-door motorway and the hotel lacks it's usual signage on the building as it is undergoung extensive refurbishment. The refurbishment is apparent as soon as you enter, but the efficiency of the staff and the haven which our newly refurbished rooms provided made up for that. The large rooms were clean and provided with all the usual refinements. the bathroom were large and well equipped. Breakfast was served buffet style and represented great value.

Due to the noise from the connecting room we had a restless and virtually sleepless first night. Luckily the couple were only there one night otherwise I would have requested another room. I discussed this with the hotel staff who were full of apologies. It is recommended that rooms with connecting doors should not be given to couples who do not have children or do not need immediate access to family members with whom they may be travelling.

I also got burnt in the steam room because the plastic protective cover for the bit of metal that the steam comes out of had come off. I still have a big mark on my leg nearly 2 weeks later! The electronic fridge confused us, we'd moved things around in it before we realised. But they were very nice at reception, and it was all ok in the end!
