A Pleasant Enough Place. Go out lakeside side of RR station, make a right and only 4 blk or so walk to hotel. No front desk was no problem. Missed not having breakfast. Nice that hotel gave city transit pass - good for Metro. Hotel at mid-point location between old city and lakeside. Nice 20 minute walk down to lakefront, but use Metro to avoid steep walk up from Lake. Unique highlight was Olympic Park and Museum [allow full 2 hrs].

I had to commute to Geneva for work everyday and the proximity of the hotel to Gare du Lausanne suited me. The hotel does not have a reception. So, you check in through a phone at the enterance of the hotel. The hotel is saving on OPEX by doing away an elaborate staff and these savings are passed on to the customer. I would say, staying in Hotel Du Boulevard is a real value for money. The hotel has a tie-up with Cafe de Milan. The breakfast is good, but pizza wasn't that great. Still, its a decent restaurant with pleasant ambience. Some of the problems I encountered during my stay were : 1. WiFi Connectivity. The signal strength was very weak 2. Auto dispenser. It swallowed the money, but did not give me the potato chips I wanted :( I would recommend this hotel for - Business visits - Leisure - Vacation with your Spouse (NOT honeymoon)

In a quaint old building and generally comfortable. The kitchenette came in useful given the expensive food prices in Switzerland. We enjoyed our stay. My only problem is the lack of personal touch as there is no receptionist at all. So when we had problems upon check-in (given the wrong room; booked one with a kitchenette but was given one without), we had no one to turn to. Fortunately, a cleaning lady happened to appear and she very promptly rendered help. But much time was "wasted" in the process. Having a front desk person will be much better.

With the concept here you solve this completely - NO RECEPTION! Press the buzzer on the door, speaker talks back, door opens, phone rings, you're given a code to the numbered box, take your key, put the completed form in the white box, put your keys in the brown box when you leave (check out by 12...) - Near the railway and Funi ... PERFECT. And ... the room is great, clean, tidy and everything a bedroom should be. Don't come here if you need staff to fuss over you ... or if you need that 'personal touch'. However - I'm in the target audience and will use them every time I'm back!

Near station, bus stop, restaurants, grocery store. Had quiet room on the back so could open windows for nice summer air. The hotel was advertised as air conditioned, but it was not. So had I had a front room on the street it would have been noisy. This probably isn't a problem during cold months. No concierge was not a problem. Could always pick up phone and speak with someone.

I only interacted with 1 housekeeper who gave me my key - so can't comment on the staff. There was no evident front desk. The room was fine for what I needed. I didn't spend too much time there. The room and bathroom were very clean.
