Comment on Hotel :
We were impressed by the hotel which was a very reasonable price for a 4-star in a city. Our double room was in the original part of the hotel and overlooked a small garden. It was very quiet and I would imagine that even at the front of the hotel rooms would be quiet at night as there was little traffic in the evening.

We had read some adverse comments regading the location but we found the 15-20 minute walk to the city centre pleasurable and the location feels quite safe at night. If you really cannot manage the walk back after a big dinner, taxis are very cheap - take a business card with the hotel address to show the driver if your Portuguese is not fluent!

The room had everything required for a 4-night stay even down to a menu of pillow types if additional or different pillows are required! There is free internet access in the rooms via cable (I brought my own cable although I am sure the hotel will supply if required). Staff on reception were helpful and spoke good English, providing us with a map and advising of interesting places to visit.

Breakfast is an additional 10 euros per person and we ate in the hotel on our final morning as the cafe immediately opposite the entrance (Amazonia - very good) was closed on Sundays. The breakfast was very good with a self service buffet with a good selection of prepared fresh fruit, pastries the usual cheese and hams and a small selection of hot food.

We would definitely stay here again and Porto is a lovely city with friendly people - also very reasonably priced (average of 25 euros for a 3-course meal for 2, with wine, water and coffee). Go there and enjoy Porto!
