At long last, after two years of restoration works, the Grand Hotel Continental Siena reopens on February 2002 to the most discriminating guests, in the majestic Palazzo Gori, commissioned by the Chigi family to the architect Giovanni Fontana in the 17th century.

Sapordivino Italian Restaurant is a far cry from the classic restaurant, and not only by virtue of its magnificent setting beneath a crystal ceiling in the towering courtyard of Palazzo Gori. The menu is drawn up with obsessive care to represent the very best of the local culinary tradition, faultlessly prepared dishes of simple grace that finally provide guests with a wholly authentic experience of the Sienese lifestyle.
