Great hotel in a great location! It's at the base of the steps leading up to the cliffs - not so bad to walk down, but I recommend taking the bus that leaves every 20 minutes up to the center of town. The hotel restaurant has great food and the staff were not only incredibly pleasant and funny, but they were also incredibly helpful with directions and advice. My only complaint was that the beds were uncomfortable.

Reviewer: eric Argiro Date of review: 27 September 2006 Recommends this hotel: YES Room Hotel Facilities 5 Bed 5 Ambience 5 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 5 Location 5 Amenities 5 Value for Money 5 Being family run, there is an intimacy that runs from the owner who seems to overlook every aspect of the daily Hotel management to his relatives and sons who run the hotel resteraunt (which has some of the best food in Sorrento for cheap!) to His neices who work the front desk. Even his mother is head of the cleaning staff. You really feel the family atmosphere and they are all great people who will go out of their way for their guests! The rooms are well kept, and have some of the most amazing views in all of Italy. We stayed in two diffrent rooms during our week stay and they both had balconies that you could sit on over looking the mediteranian sea with Mt. Vasuvious and Napoli in the backdrop. It was breathtaking!

There was a large upset when we arrived as the hotel people were emphatic that they had no "twin" rooms. This was accompanied by much shouting. I was so upset that I missed my first night in Sorrento. As it turned out, what they call a "double" is really two small beds pushed together, which is all we had asked for.

We were not given any help to get to the room with our suitcases. Staff in restaurant staff were 'in your face' especially if you are a group of girls! There were ants on the floor in the bedroom. Notified staff, they were not suprised! Did not apologise or offer a discount or ask if we wanted a different room. Staff 'sprayed' the ants to get rid of them. Shower was in the bath, appeared dirty, was not very appealing to use. Tea/Coffee making facilities would have been nice in the room.

More variety in breakfast offerings are needed for stays more than 2 days Room was good size and with attractive aspect. Air conditioning did not work, although was not needed mostly.

The only complaint would be to the centre of Sorrento is a trek up steep steps which takes its toll even on a young person so not really suitable for elderly people however buses run constantly from the port area to the square above.
