You could whine about the bathrooms being a little decrepit, but where else in the world do you still have a bidet? View from the first floor back rooms on the Place worth much more than what you pay for, and with a fridge, a tv, a balcony & complimentary free WiFi from the city hall, it's just feel-good value for money. Add friendly staff, incredible turn-of-the-other-century elevator, best possible location, and if you can do with the old-ish charm, you'll love it. An easy walk to the tourist bureau and most of the attractions. Also on metro and bus lines. The hotel staff were courteous and friendly. We did not opt to eat in the hotel at any time and it was easy to step out for "petit dejeuner" for half of the 16.50 euro hotel price. We liked the old style with the old lift (elevator) with a seat in it. Some guests might prefer more modern facilities but this place has decided old world charm.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious which made for an enjoyable stay.

Ceiling were reminiscent of a cruise ship, which took away from the charm of Lyon, but otherwise a very pleasant room.
