Nerja is located at east of Malaga and one of the Costa del Sol's quieter resorts, Nerja attracts a more mature traveller than its brasher neighbours, and sits atop low cliffs dropping down to enclosed beaches such as that of El Salon. The town's focal point is the Balcon de Europa, a paved headland jutting out into the Mediterranean. The most popular attraction is the Nerja caves, large enough to house a concert hall hosting ballet and orchestra performances.

From Malaga Airport: Head southwest on Pje de las Carmelitas toward Paseo de Grice Hutchinson. Turn right at Paseo de Grice Hutchinson and slight right at Plaza de La Inmaculada. Slight right at Camino Nuevo and turn right at Camino del Retiro. Then, continue on Calle Decano Eduardo Palanca and turn right at A-404/Ctra de Alora.

Continue to follow A-404 and at the roundabout, take the 1st exit. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A-7 ramp to Cadiz/Algeciras/AP-7/E-15. Merge onto A-7 and take exit 292 toward MA-5105. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for N-340a/Nerja and merge onto MA-5105. Go through 2 roundabouts. Slight right toward N-340 and take slight right at N-340. Turn left and turn right. Destination Hotel Marinas de Nerja will be on the left.
