I had a street side room on the 3rd floor, and it was well insulated from any noise. I was disappointed that there was no coffee maker in the room, but they did have free coffee in the reception area in the morning. The staff was helpful in explaining the local transit system so I was able to use public transportation. I arrived via train from Switzerland, and the hotel is within easy walking distance from the station in a convenient part of town. The convenience was worth the money for a one day stay. R.N.

It is a beautiful hotel with all the charm and elegance you would want but also updated for your comfort (bathrooms, internet, heating, etc.). It is probably the best located hotel in the city, right on the main street near the street trains, near an excellent shopping area and close to wonderful restaurants as well. It's location near the water tower and other beautiful buildings around the park make it even more impressive. The staff is beyond excellent -- helpful but not intrusive, always ready to assist you with all you could want or need, and extremely courteous and friendly. As a frequent business traveler in the U.S. -- where the housekeeping staff disturbs you at the most ungodly hour regardless of whether you have a "do not disturb" sign on your door -- I was amazed and delighted that I literally did not hear a sound from anyone (guests or staff) from inside my room for the entire eight days I was there. Also, no matter what time I left the room, it was always clean when I returned - something unheard of in the U.S. where you might get new towels if requested once the housekeeping staff has left for the day. Finally, the food provided by room service was excellent (from a choice of two excellent restaurants in the hotel) and was available until late at night. Also, the bar was very charming and a great place to invite friends for a drink. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Mannheim.
