We found all the staff (reception, porters, chambermaids, bar staff, etc) to be very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel had been recently refurbished to an excellent standard throughout (lobby, lifts, restaurants, rooms, etc). All very modern, bright, and in good repair. Very impressive. The hotel car pack is very large, well protected, and takes the strain out of what for many city hotels is a difficult problem. However, one of the very few issues with the hotel is that it is quite difficult to get off the M8 at the hotel even though they are both very near each other! Thanks to Glasgow's incomprehensible one-way system and the hotel entrance not being very well sign posted and hidden off Argyll Street. But this is a minor complaint about its location & access to the hotel. The room was superb... well sized, with an extremely comfortable king size bed with beautiful bed linen and soft pillows. The bathroom and shower were first class, as were the soaps and shampoos provided... top quality! The in-room Internet link was easy to use and reasonably priced. The breakfasts were delicious and were a great way to start the day. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend it highly to friends and relatives. By far the best hotel my wife and I have stayed at in Glasgow & we have tried many others in the City around the same price range. Jack

Marriot Hotel Glasgow Reviewer: Thomas Turnbull Date of review: 14 September 2008 Recommends this hotel: YES Recommended for: Business, Leisure Room Hotel Facilities 4 Bed 5 Ambience 4 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 4 Location 5 Amenities 5 Value for Money 4 We enjoyed our stay, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the bed was excellent, I have back trouble and the bed is the most important part of any hotel for me, I had no trouble at all, the staff were courteous and helpful, I reported a broken hair-dryer and it was repaired in minutes and then a new one was delivered to our room, I appreciated having spare shelves in the fridge for personal use as I had to store medication, the leisure facilities were good, the porters on the desk were very helpful with local information and directions, I would certainly stay there again.

Excellent location only ten minute walk from the railway station and very close to the town centre. The hotel itself was brilliant especially the breakfast. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. If we ever go to Glasgow again we will definitely stay in the Marriott. Highly recommended. !!
