A great hotel, located near the station and the old town. The staff member at check- in gave us some excellent tips on what to do and see in the evening and morning that we had available. Everything was within walking distance. The room, the general appearance and the breakfast were all of high quality. The in-room computing facilities were inadequate and too expensive, however.

The room had some lovely features (particularly a balcony off the bath!), but was in need of recarpeting and more general refurbishing. The greatest problem was the noise from the street.

Since it was my first visit to Lausanne, I did not know the area but the staff had a very good knowledge of Lausanne.

Their excellent service was much appreciated. The standard of food at dinner in the restaurant was ok but not high. Breakfast was supposedly until 10, but after 9 they began to run out of things. The room was very good apart from the bed which was adequate. We had a balcony, which was very nice. The beds were twin, lightweight beds. We would have preferred a double bed, or at least twin beds which did not move apart.
