Staff helpful and breakfast was fine. The room was appaling. Paint was chipped, one of the walls had carpet on it. The walls were stained. The curtain rail dangled and there wasn't a curtain, just see through blinds. The window didn't close properly. I paid £97 per night, more like £40.

The location is excellent. Rooms could be made more comfortable if one easy chair is included and a kettle,+tea, cofee etc especially as there is no room service.
Staff were very courteous.

If you really need to stay close to the station at a reasonable price, this hotel is worth considering.

Hotel located close to train station and convenient for walking around the city. Breakfast was good although the breakfast room is very small and was crowded, sometimes we were forced to sit at any available open seat or wait for a later time. Nice game/meeting room with tables and large TV. Staff is friendly and speaks English.

I stayed at this hotel as my father had stayed there many times some years ago before he died, and I thought it would be nice to stay there to see how he had experienced Geneva.
I paid CHF150 for a sub-standard room which had wall paper peeling off the walls. The bathroom was tiny and the shower door was missing, resulting in water from the shower spraying out onto the bathroom floor and toilet. Very dissappointing.
I am now staying in a youth hostel in Geneva for CHF30 per night which has considerably better facilities, including free internet assess, and much bigger rooms.
Hotel Moderne sadly isn't. I was very dissappointed.

Convenient for railway station and city, but rather dark and with old and worn out rooms (not modern). I think next time I would prefer to spend a little more and stay somewhere a bit better

Service and friendliness of the reception staff was excellent. Very helpful!

Too small breakfast room. Poor choice if one comes towards the end of breakfast time (e.g. no croissants).
