Just a short walk to the center, which is a plus since Siena is not a very easy city get to. In the winter months (weather unpredictable), this hotel is good because it is close and you can walk in 10 minutes. In the summer, I would stay at a nicer hotel (same price) just outside Siena and walk the easy 25 minutes in to the center or by bus. It is convenient and easy to find your way back, as long as you have the name and address of hotel. After living and traveling a bit in Italy the past couple of years, we stayed in a lot of hotels. This was rated a 3-star, but I would rate it more like a 2-star. We usually stay in 2-star hotels for leisure, but since it was business, we wanted something a little nicer. The rooms were not any nicer than any of the 2-star hotels we have stayed in. They definately need to update the rooms and beds.
