Comment on Hotel :
This is a very central hotel and within reasonable walking distance of all Rome's main attractions. Located on the edge of a pedestrianised square it was almost completely free of traffic noise and very safe, being close to the parliament building which is under the constant surveillance of the carabinieri ! This proximity had a very slight and quite entertaining downside when groups of noisy protestors occasionally gave vent to their feelings about the policies of the politicians attending parliament.
The hotel is very comfortable and the staff really quite excellent and obliging. My wife and I were made very welcome and, to make our stay even more enjoyable, were unexpectedly given a room upgrade without additional charge. We took advantage of the hotel's convenient limousine service for personalised transfers to and from the airport.
The only meals we took at the hotel were breakfast when there was a comprehensive continental spread. In the streets around the hotel there is a large number of restaurants and just around the corner is Giolitti, probably Rome's most celebrated ice cream parlour !
