This was our first visit to Granada and the purpose of the trip was to visit the Alhambra. This hotel was in an ideal position for the visit. We got a bus from the bottom of the road up to Alhambra and walked back down, following the Alhambra walls which brought us out very near the Hotel.

The hotel is small and very interesting, almost an Art Gallery, with some interesting modern artwork and sculptures within an old building. Check out the photos on their website which give a very good indication of what to expect.

We had a double room with breakfast which was cheaper than the suites on offer. The room was very small and the only window looked straight out onto the building across the alley - almost within touching distance. The en suite bathroom was well equiped but verging on shabby. Could have done with redecorating. However, it was wonderfully quiet and very convenient.

The reason for the quietness is that you cannot get to the hotel by car. We spent at least an hour trying to find somewhere nearby to park but the hotel is up a flight of steps between two roads with no parking in the vicinity. In the end we left our car in a carpark in the centre of town for two days, and took a taxi to the hotel. You really do not need a car in Granada.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was buffet style, fresh and plentiful. It was within easy walking distance of the city centre and very easy access to the Alhambra. Several good restaurants very nearby.

Definitely not your 'run of the mill' city hotel and an interesting and convenient place to stay.
