Overview
The building, which dates from the 12th century, housed a girl's boarding school in the 1800's. Closed for the last ten years, the site was recently restored to its former splendor and prepared for its present use thanks to the Iacopini family who has been its proprietor for many years. This work has left unaltered the original structure of the building, and has successfully created an elegant, charming residence in the heart of Lucca's historic city centre.

Known today as the Hotel Palazzo Alexander Lucca, the residence encompasses four floors of rooms and apartments, all with modern, private bathrooms - some with whirlpool baths. In addition, all rooms contain such conveniences as satellite television, telephones, hairdryers and computer hook-ups. The decor of the residence reflects the noble Lucchese style with the use of antique wood floors in all the bedrooms and fine marble and other local stones in the bathrooms, lobby and common rooms.

Breakfast, a buffet of fresh, local products, is presented in harmonious style and elegance with services of fine silver, crystal and porcelain. A special selection of Tuscan wines allows guests to combine the delightful atmosphere of the residence with other great pleasures of this noble region.
