Prague's compact historical center is best explored on foot. Public transportation is readily available and comprises the Metro (underground), buses, trams, and a funicular railway climbing Petr in Hill from the Little Quarter (Mala Strana) west of the Vltava (Moldava) River. Tickets may be used interchangeably on all public-transit systems. The Metro stop nearest the Hotel Paris Prague is Namesti Republiky, 100 meters (100 yards) away. Taxis are available throughout the city center, but some drivers can be untrustworthy. Taxis summoned by the hotel staff have reliable drivers.
