Staff were not over attentive but there if you needed anything. The hotel is in a very nice location near to the centre of the city. Some rooms have a river view if you are prepared topay for the experience. I did but the view is low on my list of needs.
Food was a massive disappointment. Dinner on the first night was horrible! Food left buffet style under heated lights. It was dry, hard and thoroughly unpleasant. Breakfast was no inprovement with a reasonable selection spoiled by being left on display. It was cold long before I got half way through the plate. Tea is to be made in the cup with a tea bag and water dispenser, not good enough for the first drink of the day which us Brits need to be good.
Second day we surprised them by being at the restaurant on the opening minute. Sadly the food was not much, if at all any better. A hearty breakfast goes a long way and this was anything but that. Very very poor way to present food. Execs need to go and get some first hand treatment, British execs not Belgian....
The bar was nice to look at, for a minute, situated with river views. Once inside the experience badly disappointed. It was cold due to A/C drawing cold air through the tired secondary double glazing. Staff were uninterested and we left half our two drinks in our haste to get out. Very expensive drinks in a dingy cold unwelcoming atmosphere. This bar could be made a great location with some attention. Obviously the hotel does not get the attention it needs from the parent company's image guru's.
