WHEN we return to Munich, we WILL stay at the Platzl Hotel!!!!!

Staff was helpful and very friendly, also extension of parking after checkout was handled in a favourable way.

I chose this hotel because of its location. I liked it a lot as it was fully (rooms) renovated. I'm planning to visit Munich again very soon with my family but when I asked at the reception whether they have connecting rooms that can accommodate me and my wife in one room and my 3 children (ages 14, 12, 10) in the other room, I was informed that they cannot offer me that. I was sorry to hear this as this hotel could become "my home" when I visit Munich both for business or leisure.

The hotel is ideally located for exploring Munich. The staff were very friendly and attended to any of our requests very promptly. The breakfast buffet was excellent and there were many more choices than are usually found in European hotels.

Hotel restauarants very good, also near to many other restaurants, shops , underground trains etc. (but still quiet). Very good, lovely modern bathroom, quiet A/C. Only fault no tea/coffee making facility.

Very nice hotel to stay at. People were friendly and helpful. Hotel is in walking distance of all big sites. Will definately return.

Very pleasant breakfast room with an excellent breakfast buffet. On our first stay the room allocated seemed nicer and more recently renovated than the room for our second stay.

After the completion of the remodel this might be a nice hotel in a very good location. I think while reserving this hotel I should have been told that there is no AC in my room, that there is construction going on near my room and that I am getting a room in the not remodeled part of the hotel.A German friend who met me in Munich and also stayed at this hotel called to make her reservation and was told that the hotel was newly remodeled. That we would be put up in the not yet remodeled section was therefor a surprise and a dissapointment. The location is great! The problem was that I was put in a room in the not yet remodeled part of the hotel that does not deserve the 4 stars and there was no aircondition and loud construction noise started at 7 am, so that I only slept 4 hours. That is no vacation.

The Platzl Hotel was an excellent choice because of its central location . The staff were invaraibly friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and very helpful. I would definitely go back there if I visited Munich again.

better gym, tea/coffee making facilities in room

Air conditioning would be nice to have for the summer months so you could shut windows to block the noise from the Hofbrauhaus and other establishments.

The spa is very nice although it can get busy at peak times Room was a little too warm for me despite turning way down the registers.

Effective glazing cut external noise = Essential with this location

The hotel in general is very good and the location is excellent. Though these rooms come at a cheaper rate, the Hofbrauhaus room is extremely small in size and as it located just opposite the Hofbrauhaus, it is very noisy. The noise and revelry of the Hofbrauhaus users goes on upto late midnight and it is difficult to get a good night's sleep. The hotel authorities seem to be aware of this problem.

Too Small room

Wonderful breakfast. Christmas decorations lovely. Comfortable room - very nice. Unfortunately hairdryer wasn't very powerful - took ages to dry hair. Shower was lovely - a really good jet of water.
