Right on the sea front, opposite the picturesque Santa Lucia Harbor, Grand Hotel Vesuvio Naples is one of the Italy's finest luxury hotels. The hotel first opened its doors to a selected and discerning international clientele in 1882 and for many decades represented the most sought after venue in the city where to host glamorous social gatherings and important cultural events.
The second world war resulted in serious damage to the city of Naples and the Grand Hotel Vesuvio Naples was just one of the buildings to be almost completely destroyed in heavy bombing raids. In the immediate post war years, the hotel was rebuilt and two additional floors were added before the Grand Hotel Vesuvius' grand reopening in 1950.
