Redcar was a nice hotel to stay in

We were quite pleased with the quality of Redcar. As we had stayed in Linden House Hotel a few nights before we thought this hotel was much much better than Linden. The staff were decent, the room was large enough to walk freely, the doors had proper handles and locks. It was situated at the heart of the city centre so its very convenient. The best thing about it was the breakfast was very satisfying - with lots of choices and proper cooked food. It was a buffet not just a few pieces of bread. The waiters and waitresses were very polite and professional, clearing out tables as soon as we had finished. They had friendly smiles and made us felt very comfortable during our stay. I would recommend this hotel to young couples who would like to have a short stay at Bath.

Good points: Staff were courteous and helpful, especially the breakfast staff. The hotel is in a conveneient location for Bath city and all the points of interest; Thermae Spa, shops etc. The breakfast food was plentiful and fresh. Bad points: On arrival we were told the cold water was off, so no drinking water, toilet flushing, etc. It was more than 3 hours before this was restored. The following morning the hot water was off, so no showers or washing for the morning. Our party booked 2 single rooms and these were uncomfortably small. The washbasin in the en suite shower room was so small you could just about rinse a toothbrush in there. Face-washing was not possible.
CHOICES FOR A REASONABLE STAY ARE SLIM IN BATH. ADEQUATE.
The breakfast is good. Good. However the TV is so small.
A little expensive. The electric slots are not enough.
- only hit in this hotel: the breakfast - reserved double, offered twin
Could do with some refurbishment, looked quite shabby in places. Smelt old and musty toilet leaking which I reported - will ebentually rot the floor boards I suspect
