Rho Hotel Amsterdam opened its doors in April 1989. The building was formerly used by an old Amsterdam gold trading company. The beautiful reception and lobby were once a theater, built in 1908 in Art-Deco style. The rooms are modern and comfortable. Rho Hotel Amsterdam is located in the heart of the old city in a quiet side street, a few steps from the historic Dam Square, the Central Square of Amsterdam, with the Royal Palace and the New Church. The Central Station is about 5 minutes walking distance. Shopping and night life is all around the hotel although it's quiet location. Guests will find the best department stores, the unique Magna Plaza shopping mall, and the long pedestrian shopping street Kalverstraat at walking distance. Excursions by bus or by boat are leaving from around the corner. Around the hotel are the canals with their historic houses.
