The 3-star Hotel Rho Amsterdam opened its doors in April 1989. The building was formerly used by an old Amsterdam gold trading company. The beautiful reception and lobby were once a theater, built in 1908 in Art-Deco style. The Hotel Rho Amsterdam is located in the heart of the old city in a quiet side street, a few steps from the historic DAM square, the central square of Amsterdam, with the Royal Palace and the New Church.
The Central Station is about 5 minutes walking distance. shopping and night life is, although it's quiet location, all around the hotel. The guest will find the best department stores, the unique Magna Plaza shopping mall, and the long pedestrian shopping street "Kalverstraat" at walking distance. Excursions by bus or by boat are leaving from around the corner. Around the Hotel Rho Amsterdam are the canals with their historic houses.
How to get to the hotel:
From Schiphol airport
The guest can take a taxi for about 30 minutes travel time or else can take the shuttle bus from CONNEXXION to DAM square. It runs from 7.00 AM till 9 PM, every half hour. Find the desk of Connexxion in the airport in the main entrance/departure hall, a bit on the left hand side. The Hotel Rho Amsterdam is 1 minute walking from the bus stop on Dam square.
The guest can take a train from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. Travelling time is about 18 min. From 6 AM until 24 PM 4 trains per hour, rest of the day at least one train per hour.
From Amsterdam Central Station
The guest can walk along Damrak street to Dam square, this will take about 5 minutes. When coming out of the station, do not go left or right, just straight ahead in the street before.
The other way is to get a tram in front of Central Station, get out at the first stop. Tram numbers 4, 9, 16, 24, 25.
By car
Coming from outside the city, follow the signs for "CENTRUM" and will be ending up on DAM square close to the hotel. Hotel Rho Amsterdam is in a street called NES, which is a side street from DAM square.
