Comment on Hotel :
This hotel is located in a main street in Dresden's Neustadt, 10 minutes walk from the bridge over the Elbe to the Altstadt.
It is overall a well run hotel with few shortcomings. I was very impressed by the extremely wide range of food offered for breakfast and I had a very good evening meal in the hotel restaurant. The general condition of the hotel is good and there is an outside courtyard area where one can sit with a beer or even have one's meal... or play chess on an outdoor board!
The single room I occupied, although overlooking the inside courtyard, was very badly insulated from noise and the bed had no headboard, nor was it possible for it to be against a wall, so it was impossible to sit up in bed and read or watch television in comfort. The TV itself, however, carried an unexpectedly good selection of international channels.
There are very many low cost restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity - indeed, there appears to be little other commercial activity!
