Our only word of advice is to be cautious with the over friendly staff member at the front desk who is clearly after some extra commissions. But then again everybody is like that in Turkey

It is on the same side of the street as the St Sophia Mosque (right next door), the Blue Mosque (3 minutes walk) and the Topaki Palace (5 minutes walk), the Underground Cisterns (opposite). Also it is very near shops, restaurants, the tram line and the Grand Bazaar. The hotel is only a large old house converted into a hotel 2 or 3 star -- adequate if you plan to be out all day. Housekeeping was poor, eg on Sunday they did not make the bed or tidy the room. On the other days, they only made the bed roughly, but did not tidy the room or provide toilet paper or clean cups etc.
