Right in the city heart. Good breakfast.

Street scene was very loud and quite noisy until late into the night. Would have appreciated some intervention by local authorities or for the staff to call in a complaint. A noon check out time would be most helpful. Deeply appreciated the ability to leave luggage in lobby although the system was awkward and not very secure.

The location is excellent: practically in the old city and a very short walk to the train station. The rooms are very clean, neat and ours was quite airy. They are not overly large, but big enough. Shower and bathroom facilities were excellent. Bedding was the single quilt, crisply white, Swiss style, which I love. Our daughters room was on the 5th floor and supposedly non-smoking, but the room did have a distinct smoke aroma, which bothered their sleeping. We tried to switch rooms, but could not as they were full. The front desk people spoke english easily and were very helpful in answering all our first-time-visitor questions. The breakfasts were terrific. A buffet of ample selections, well prepared and well attended to. A very very good experience.

I would have liked an in-hotel restaurant my first evening(wrong night), but found a very nice alternative. The staff at the reception desk were very pleasant and helpful. The arrangement for cold drinks was not; there was seldom water available in the Getrankeautomat on my floor, and what I found the first evening was not exactly cold. Furthermore, the need to feed it coins was a nuisance. What I liked best of all was the location within sight of the computer room, so I could tell whether one was available at any given time, so I could write letters home.

It was supposed to have a treadmill, but didn't. There could also have been some weight handles.
