transit assessment Reviewer: Geoff McPherson Date of review: 26 November 2007 Recommends this hotel: YES Recommended for: Business Room Hotel Facilities 3 Bed 5 Ambience 4 Cleanliness 5 Service 5 Room Size 4 Location 5 Amenities 5 Value for Money 4 We found the hotel primarily as a transit stop from the Internet for a late flight from Ireland to Barcelona and Cadaques as part of a 22 flight overseas trip from Australia. Unfortunately we came in very late and left very early. We could not assess the hotel effectively. Your night and morning staff staff were extremely helpful, especially in recommending a Chinese eating location nearby that was excellent and a source of great fun for us. We were readily included into the Halloween fun for local families. So I am afraid that our assessment can only be as a transit hotel for which it was excellent. There did not appear to be any hotels closer to the airort than this. cheers Geoff McPherson

The hotel was well located for an cost effective taxi ride to and from the airport and yet close enough to the city for a 20 minute train ride for sightseeing. The hotel is ideally located for a short stay in the city especially if arriving late at night into the city and/or leaving early morning. The complaints I would have about the hotel are - The air conditioning fan was too noisy so it had to be turned off at night making the room quite hot. The shower was leaking and thus the water pressure was not the best. The hotel had no restaurant for dinner which isn't a big problem really but it just removes one option for dining which probably is only an inconvenience for late arriving guests as I was. I had to go out to find something to eat which I didn't really feel like doing after arrival.

It would have been nice to be able to sit outside and to use te swimming pool. I tought the room was very nice. It had everything I needed.

The night before I asked when the shuttle would be arriving and I was told the last shuttle left at 9:45. THe next morning, I double checked the time and was again told 9:45. At 9:25 that morning, I brought my luggage down and waited for the shuttle, which never showed up. The receptionist made a phone call around 10:00 and confirmed that the shuttle would not be picking up people from the hotel again. Thus, I had to spend money for a taxi which I had not budgeted for earlier.

Also, providing van service to the airport is appreciated. The room was quite comfortable with basic amenities available. The staff were very cooperative when we had some problem regarding the room.
