Positives 1, Very easy to find off the A1 Bologna- Rome route, south of Florence - easy access to the designer shopping mall about 25min drive. 2. 18-25 euros in taxi to central florence. But hotel also has a shuttle bus that runs frequently am & pm. 3. Beautiful grounds and ambience, manicured gardens, fruit and vegetables & grape vines decorate the rear terrace leading to the pool. 4. Modern comfortable sunloungers and nice pool size 20m. 5. We had superior double- sofa and marble breakfast table, kingsize bed. & deluxe double- larger bathroom -separate shower, jacuzzi bath, twin beds -huge carved oak frames, longe chairs and breakfast table. Both rooms also had wardrobes and dressing tables and lovely views. 6. Very thick white towels and robes, that were changed twice daily. 7. Good breakfast, - fruit, cheese, pastries, hams etc, eggs to oder. 8. Excellent resturant ,. absolutely divine food- eg open seabass ravioli, celery sorbet, lamb fillet in herb crust served with aubergine and tomatoes. and the puddings just heavenly- white chocolate bavrois with summer berries, a chocalte artistic creation ala Gary Rhodes etc, the bill for 4 of us including an excellent montepulciano, & some prosecco, was 300 euros. We ate on the terrace as no one was in the resturant 9. Trattoria gargotte - up in the village overlooking florence, outdoor eating on rickety tables and chairs, but food cooked to order as you go along - so you can eat 1st course then decide on next course etc is also near the hotel and a 3 course meal with wine cost 40 euros per person ,and the food was authentic rustic tuscan super fresh. 10. The staff were lovely, from reception to bar & breakfast. Very friendly, genuinely welcoming. 11. We paid summer special rate 270 euros per night BB. ( rather more than our original budget) 12. First impression of a huge walled garden and circular driveway infront of 2 beautiful mansions are fantastic, we were so excited as we drove up, and it was a pleasure to come back to each day. 13. Shutters ensure no light for great sleep. Airconditioning effective. Chosen because it was 5 star with a pool and being outside florence we were hoping for tranquility, with the option of nightlife a taxi distance away. - Group of 4 women age 33-43 Loved the relaxed luxury ambience, planning to celebrate our birthdays there again next year. Negatives 1. 2 American families with noisy children in the pool area that were dive bombing so splashing the rest of us trying to relax 2. Decor in the lounge & public areas is traditional, classic elegance, ( normally i go for ultra modern, hip, boutique hotels ) BUT the ambience was lovely and the lounge area has several seating area's to which one could escape. 3 no tea /coffee in the room, but we just did room service 4. Shower in our room was not draining well, but we never got round to telling them until check out. 5. I'm not sure i can afford to stay there again, but i will!. 38yr professional female, loves travelling, loves fine wine, good food and mojitos! - bar Capocaccia is the place to go for great mojitos and late evening drinking eg 11pm onwards!. Enjoy
