Expensive breakfast. Temperature in the room was very hot and the thermostat didn't make any difference.

It was only on my last night that I was able to get a hold of the modem from reception. It was in use the other nights - though there was some confusion the first night and I was told by reception on arrival that a local phone call for computer access was possible from my room so I wasted 3 hours trying and only found out the need for the special modem the next day when none were available!
